Dorisiana compostela, n. comb
Authors/Creators
Description
Dorisiana compostela (Davis, 1934) n. comb.
(Fig. 27)
Fidicina compostela Davis 1934: 55.
Fidicinoides compostela Sanborn 2007b: 36.
Type locality. Near Compostela, Nayarit, Mexico.
Remarks. The species was transferred to Fidicinoides based on the shape of the cruciform elevation and the relationship between the posterior mesonotum and the metanotum (Sanborn 2007b). Examination of the species shows it possesses three-part tarsi and the triangular timbal cover apex characteristic of Dorisiana (Fig. 27). As a result the species is herby reassigned to Dorisiana to become Dorisiana compostela (Davis, 1934) n. comb. Body length 24–26 mm, fore wing length 32.5–37.5 mm.
Distribution. The species has been reported previously from Nayarit and Colima, Mexico (Metcalf 1963; Sanborn 2007b; 2013).
