Type locality. The type specimen was described from an unknown collection locality.

Remarks. The species is one of the smaller species of the genus (Fig. 9) and is similar to G. nadae and G. platyrhina in general appearance. It is associated with the Yunga, Paranense, Chaco and Espinal floristic provinces in Argentina (Sanborn et al. 2011). Body length 16–18 mm, fore wing length 23–26 mm.

Distribution. The species has been reported from Argentina, Brazil, and French Guiana (Metcalf 1963; Sanborn 2013; Sanborn et al. 2011; Sanborn & Heath 2014).
