Consumer behavior and perceptions of the food chain is important for the emergence of mass market alternatives. The central objective of the SMARTCHAIN project is to foster and accelerate the shift towards collaborative short food supply chains (SFSC), to introduce new robust business models and innovative practical solutions and promote a more favourable framework for sustainable, local, healthier and ethically produced food in Europe.
