POTENSI ANTIBAKTERI DAUN SEMBUNG RAMBAT (Mikania micrantha Kunth.) DALAM MENGHAMBAT PERTUMBUHAN BAKTERI Shigella dysenteriae

This paper contains the potential of sembung rambat (Mikania mirchanta Kunth.) leaves in inhibiting the growth of Shigella disenteriae bacteria. The leaves of sembung rambat (Mikania micrantha Kunth.) are an invasive plant that is known to produce secondary metabolites that can inhibit the growth of other plants and bacteria. Sembung Rambat leaf extract contains compounds that act as antibacterial and antimicrobials such as flavonoids, tannins, saponins and others. Sembung rambat leaf extract has great potential in inhibiting the growth of bacteria Shigella disenteriae. This bacteria which is a bacterium that is resistant to many antibiotics and is the cause of shigellosis. Shigellosis is  which disease has killed many children in the world.
