pvcompare: comparing the benefits of different PV technologies in local energy systems in different energy supply scenarios
Description
pvcompare is a tool for energy system analysis and optimization and for comparing the integration of different technologies into energy systems. The main purpose of this tool is to compare the benefits of different technologies in different energy supply scenarios. pvcompare concentrates on the integration of PV technologies into local, urban energy systems, but can be enhanced to analyse other conversion technologies on other scales. The functionalities include among others calculation of PV generation time series, electricity and heat demand time series, area potential for PV on roof-tops and façades, temperature dependent COPs of heat pumps, the download of ERA5 weather data and tools for visualisation, sensitivity analysis and data pre- and post-processing. The simulation is based on the Open Energy Modelling Framework (oemof) and the Multi-Vector Simulator (MVS). A detailed documentation is available on readthedocs.
The specified authors are the main contributors to this model, while a list of all contributors can be found on github.
