Lex Portorii Provinciae Lyciae The Customs Law from Andriake
Authors/Creators
Description
The initiator of the customs inscription found 1999 in Andriace was C. Licinius Mucianus, who was already known as governor of Lycia under Nero. The new text reflects the tax reform of Nero, which is mentioned by Tacitus (Tac., Ann. 13.51) together with other events of the year 58. Four of the five clauses which were given by Tacitus, are also mentioned in the inscription from Andriace.
