Die Art gehört zur Agrypon anxium -Gruppe. HELLÉN hat sie zunächst (1926) zu Unrecht als Synonym stenostigma von A. anxium geführt. 1950 betrachtete er sie korrekterweise als eigenständige Art unter dem Namen stenostigma, der allerdings ein Synonym von A. batis ist (SCHNEE 1993). GRÖNBLOM (1964) führte die von ihm gezüchtete Art auch unter stenostigma.
Sie ist als Parasitoid ausser bei Thyatira batis (LINNAEUS, 1758) auch bei Habrosyne pyritoides (HUFNAGEL, 1766) bekannt und fliegt von Anfang Juli bis Ende August. Das Exemplar aus Finby war am 3. Juli gefangen worden. Der Schlupftermin 23.3.193 3 eines der von GRÖNBLOM gezüchteten Exemplare ist auf unnatürliche Zuchtbedingungen zurückzuführen.
Das von HELLÉN (1938) als A. stenostigma bestimmte Exemplar aus Keuru (= Keuruu) konnte nicht untersucht werden. Seine Identität ist unklar, weil der Autor als Körperlänge nur 7 mm angibt. A. batis ist mit 15 bis 18 mm mehr als doppelt so gross.
