Luciola flava Pic 1929: 73. McDermott 1966: 104. Ballantyne et al. 2016 Tables 6, 7.

Type. COCHIN CHINA. Female. (MNHN).

Remarks. Dorsal surface yellow; most of ventral surface including head between eyes, yellow; basal abdominal ventrites anterior to LO brown. Nothing sufficiently distinctive about this colour pattern, nor the locality data, would permit an attempt to associate males. Two other species, L. concreta from Java, and L. recticollis from Sumatra, were both described from females with similar colouration and a yellow head between the eyes.
