Description

The solar atmosphere shows a large variety of eruptive phenomena at various scales that are key to solving the long-standing question about coronal heating. Recently, ubiquitous miniature eruptions (campfires) were uncovered using the EUI instrument onboard the Solar Orbiter mission. To start unravelling their physics, we have performed a 2.5D experiment using the Bifrost code in which hot ejections are obtained. We have computed the corresponding Fe X 174 Å emissivity as a first approach to compare with the EUI observations, concluding that some campfires may be explained as a natural consequence of magnetic flux emergence and reconnection.
