Description
Database of water ice-bearing permanently shaded regions in the lunar south polar region, as described in Lemelin et al. (2021) Framework for Coordinated Efforts in the Exploration of Volatiles in the South Polar Region of the Moon, Planetary Science Journal.
This database includes information that could be used to help identify the best location for missions designed to validate the detections of water ice at the surface in the south polar region and extend those observations to determine the lateral and vertical extent of that ice. The database is available in two formats: (1) an Excel spreadsheet, (2) an ArcGIS shapefile.
