Genus Pseudopicobia Skoracki, Scibek and Sikora, 2012

Pseudopicobia Skoracki et al., 2012a: 230.

Type species: Pseudopicobia nonnula Skoracki, Scibek and Sikora, 2012, by original designation.

Diagnosis. FEMALE. Hypostomal apex rounded. Peritremes M-shaped. Setae vi situated posterior to level of setae ve. Propodonotal shield divided into 2 longitudinal sclerites, bearing bases of setae ve, si and se. Opisthonotal and genital lobes absent. Bases of setae 1a coalesced. Pseudanal series represented by 2 pairs of setae. Genital setae absent. Apodemes I with thorn-like protuberances. Legs with full complement of solenidia. Antaxial and paraxial claws of legs III and IV unequal in size and shape. Physogastric form with distinctly enlarged idiosoma, wormshaped in outline.

MALE. Features as in females except: each pseudanal and genital setal series represented by 2 pairs.

Species included. Three species: Psudopicobia nonnula Skoracki et al., 2012; P. malacoptila Skoracki et al., 2012, and P. hapaloptila Skoracki et al., 2012.

Host range. Galbuliformes (Bucconidae).

Distribution. Neotropical region (Colombia, Ecuador).
