179. Ixodes persulcatus Schulze, 1930.
A Palearctic and Oriental species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Mammalia (several orders); immature stages, but rarely adult ticks, are common on Aves (several orders), and less often found on Squamata: Lacertidae. There are two records of female ticks collected from Anura: Ranidae; and unknown stages have been found on Squamata: Viperidae. Ixodes persulcatus is a very frequent parasite of humans.
