Description

61. Rhipicephalus pulchellus (Gerstäcker, 1873).

An Afrotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Artiodactyla: Bovidae, but they have also been collected from Mammalia (several orders). Adults alone have rarely been recovered from Galliformes: Phasianidae, and Struthioniformes: Struthionidae. Rhipicephalus pulchellus is a sporadic parasite of humans.
