125. Ixodes lemuris Arthur, 1958b, but see below.

An Afrotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Primates: Cheirogaleidae; adult ticks alone have been collected from Primates: Lemuridae, and Rodentia: Muridae. There are no records of Ixodes lemuris causing human parasitism.
