Description

A sensor automatic orientation check based on P-wave coherency matrix analysis was performed on 77 stations from the RSBR network using 762 different teleseismic earthquakes. 78% of the stations presented a correct orientation with deviations not larger than 10°, 14% are showing deviations > 10° and < 30° and finally, 8% shows deviations larger than 30°. Considering that RSBR is a permanent network it would be advised to perform a sensor re-orientation and indication of the inconsistencies into the stations metadata.
