Description

Ancylosis albicosta (Staudinger, 1870)

Figs 74–77

Myelois albicosta Staudinger, 1870 — Berliner entomologische Zeitschrift, 14: 202. TL: Volgograd [Sarepta], Russia. Staudingeria brunneonervella Roesler, 1970 — Reichenbachia, 13 (7): 67–69, fig. 16. TL: “Molzog elis, 2 km S von Somon Dariganga”, [Sükhbaatar aimak], Mongolia. Syn. nov.

Type material examined. Holotype of brunneonervella: ♂, “ MONGOLIA: Molzog elis, 2 km S von Somon Dariganga, 1150 m, Exp. Dr. Z. Kaszab, 1965” | “ 6.viii.1965, Nr. 370” | “ Holotypus, Ancylosis brunneonervella, U. Roesler ” (NHMB). Paratypes: 1 ♂, “ MONGOLIA: Molzog elis, 2 km S von Somon Dariganga, 1150 m, Exp. Dr. Z. Kaszab, 1965” | “ 6.viii.1965, Nr. 370” | “ Ancylosis brunneonervella, U. Roesler / Paratypus ” | “Gemalt von, Dr. F. Gregor, für Mcr. Pal.” (gen. slide 165/19, O. Bidzilya) (SMNK); 1 ♂, “ MONGOLIA: Suchebator aimak, Onmgon elis, 10 km s von Somon Chongor, 900 m, Exp. Dr. Z. Kaszab, 1965” | “Nr. 359, 3.VIII.1965 ” | “ Ancylosis, brunneonervella Rsl., Paratypoid ” (gen. slide 300/19, O. Bidzilya) (NHMB).

Additional material examined: Russia: 1 ♂, Astrakhan reg., Lake Baskunchak, 7.v.2018; 5 ♂, 2 ♀, Astrakhan reg., Dosang env., 21–23.vi.2016; 10 ♂, same data but 28.iv.2016; 4 ♂, 2 ♀, same data but, 25.v.2016; 1 ♂, Volgograd reg., Frolovsk ditsr., Vyezdinskiy env., 15.v.2017; 1 ♂, Orenburg reg., Akbulak distr., Pokrovka env., 16.vi.2019. Kazakhstan: 1 ♂, Mangistau reg., 10 km NW of vill. Taushchik, 12.v.2016; 1 ♂, Mangistau reg., env. of vill. Beineu, 20.v.2016 (all ET).

Remarks. Staudingeria brunneonervella was described from six males collected on 3 and 6.viii. 1965 in two localities in SE Mongolia (Suchebaator aimak). The studied specimens from type series are indistinguishable both externally and in the male genitalia (Figs 74–77) from Ancylosis albicosta (Staudinger, 1870). Type specimens of the latter have been examined recently (Bidzilya et al. 2019). Hence, the following synonymy is proposed: Ancylosis brunneonervella Roesler, 1970 syn. nov. of Ancylosis albicosta (Staudinger, 1870).

Distribution. Libya, Romania, Ukraine, Russia (Middle and Lower Volga, S Urals), Kazakhstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Iran, Afghanistan (Roesler 1973; Speidel 1996; Bidzilya et al. 2019; Sinev et al. 2019), Mongolia (Roesler 1970 (as Staudingeria brunneonervella )).
