Bridges to New Worlds: Astrophysics Themes at NASA
Description
NASA interfaces with the astrophysics research community via three main science themes: Exoplanet Exploration (ExEP), Physics of the Cosmos (PCOS) and Cosmic Origins (COR). These themes organize scientific and technical interests and perform analyses that are critical to the agency. This talk will present these themes, place them in context and present highlights of some of their recent findings. Particular emphasis will be given to the formation and evolution of galaxies. Upcoming plans will be presented, especially in light of the Astro2020 Decadal Survey. If you have ever wondered How does NASA Astrophysics work? or How can I talk to NASA Astrophysics? then this presentation is for you.
