Description

Cornus sanguinea Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 117. 1753.

"Habitat in Europae, Asiae, Americae borealis dumetis." RCN: 961.

Lectotype (Jonsell & Jarvis in Nordic J. Bot. 22: 83. 2002): Herb. Clifford: 38, Cornus 1 (BM-000557822).

Current name: Cornus sanguinea L. (Cornaceae).

Note: Holub (in Zprávy Českoslov. Bot. Společn. Českoslov. Akad. Věd. 17: 22. 1982) noted the need for a neotype based on the poor quality of 151.4 (LINN).
