Description
Arum macrorrhizon Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 965. 1753.

Lectotype (Furtado in Gard. Bull Straits Settlem. 11: 246, 252. 1941): [icon] " Arum Zeylanicum maximum" in Hermann, Parad. Bat.: 73. 1698.
Current name: Alocasia macrorrhizos (L.) G. Don (Araceae).
Note: For the spelling of the epithet, see Hay & Wise (in Blumea 35: 533. 1991), who also provide illustrations of the Hermann drawing in Herb. Hermann (BM) and the Rumphius plate (f. 14a, b).
