Anthemis americana Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 895. 1753.

Replaced synonym of: Verbesina mutica L. (1763), nom. illeg.
Lectotype (D’Arcy in Woodson & Schery in Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 62: 1184. 1975): Herb. Clifford: 414, Buphthalmum 5 (BM-000647176).
Current name: Chrysanthellum americanum (L.) Vatke (Asteraceae).
