Description

Amaryllis guttata Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 294. 1753.

"Habitat in Aethiopia." RCN: 2340.

Replaced synonym of: Amaryllis ciliaris L. (1762), nom. illeg.

Neotype (Müller-Doblies & Müller-Doblies in Feddes Repert. 105: 357. 1994): South Africa. Cape, Worcester, Chavonnes, near railway station, 14 Mar 1979, U. & D. Müller-Doblies 79132a (K; iso- B, BTU, M, MO, PRE, S, Z).

Current name: Boophone guttata (L.) Herb. (Liliaceae / Amaryllidaceae).
