Alopecurus indicus Linnaeus, Systema Vegetabilium, ed. 13: 92. 1774, nom. illeg.

Replaced synonym: Panicum alopecuroides L. (1753).
Lectotype (Veldkamp in Cafferty & al. in Taxon 49: 253. 2000): Herb. Linn. No. 80.1 (LINN).
Current name: Pennisetum alopecuroides (L.) Spreng. (Poaceae).
Note: An illegitimate replacement name in Alopecurus for Panicum alopecuroides L. (1753).
