Description
Alopecurus agrestis Linnaeus, Species Plantarum, ed. 2, 1: 89. 1762.
"Habitat in Europa australi." RCN: 515.
Lectotype (Cope in Cafferty & al. in Taxon 49: 245. 2000): Hudson 29, Herb. Linn. No. 82.2 (LINN).
Current name: Alopecurus myosuroides Huds. (Poaceae).
Note: The relationship between this and A. myosuroides Huds. was noted by Pryor (in J. Bot. 19: 74. 1881). Hudson’s name (Jan–Jun) was published earlier than Linnaeus’ (Sep) in 1762.
