Spigelia anthelmia Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 149. 1753.

Lectotype (Leeuwenberg in Acta Bot. Neerl. 10: 464. 1961): Herb. Linn. No. 210.2 (LINN).
Generitype of Spigelia Linnaeus.
Current name: Spigelia anthelmia L. (Strychnaceae).
