Replaced synonym: Spartium scoparium L. (1760), nom. illeg., non L. (1753).
Type not designated.
Original material: as replaced synonym.
Current name: Lebeckia sepiaria (L.) Thunb. (Fabaceae: Faboideae).
Note: Le Roux & Van Wyk (in S. African J. Bot. 73: 128. 2007) incorrectly treat this name as dating from 1753, and indicate 891.4 (LINN), a later addition to the herbarium from Thunberg, as the lectotype. As a nomen novum for Spartium scoparium L. (1760), nom. illeg., non L. (1753), S. sepiarium will be homotypic with S. scoparium L. (1760), for which the Thunberg specimen is not original material and so cannot be its type.
