Lectotype (Alston in Philipp. J. Sci. 50: 182. 1933): [icon] "Lonchitis altissima, pinnulis utrinque, seu ex utroque latere auriculatis" in Sloane, Voy. Jamaica 1: 77, t. 31. 1707. - Typotype: Herb. Sloane 1: 52 (BM-SL).

Current name: Nephrolepis exaltata (L.) Schott (Nephrolepidaceae).
