Description

Taxus baccata Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 1040. 1753.

"Habitat in Europa, Canada." RCN: 7510.

Lectotype (Jonsell & Jarvis in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 93. 1993): Herb. Clifford: 464, Taxus 1 (BM-000647522).

Generitype of Taxus Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 192. 1929).

Current name: Taxus baccata L. (Taxaceae).

Note: Jonsell & Jarvis (in Nordic J. Bot. 14: 150. 1994) gave an explanation of their earlier (1993) typification.
