Description

Brassica napus Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 666. 1753.

"Habitat in arenosis maritimis Gotlandiae, Belgii, Angliae." RCN: 4852.

Lectotype (Jonsell in Polhill, Fl. Trop. E. Africa, Cruciferae: 7. 1982): Herb. Linn. No. 844.10 (LINN).

Current name: Brassica napus L. (Brassicaceae).

Note: Bailey (in Gentes Herb. 1: 68, 81. 1922; 2: 235. 1930) discussed the Clifford and LINN material but did not designate a type.
