Lectotype (Nicolson in Taxon 28: 368. 1979): Herb. Hermann 3: 18, No. 222 (BM-000594660).
Current name: Cochlospermum religiosum (L.) Alston (Cochlospermaceae).
Note: A superfluous name for B. religiosum L. (1753).
