Betonica officinalis Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 573. 1753.

Lectotype (Press in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 24. 1993): Herb. Clifford: 310, Betonica 1, sheet 2 (BM-000646062).
Generitype of Betonica Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 164. 1929).
Current name: Betonica officinalis L. (Lamiaceae).
