Holotype (Jarvis & al. in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 81. 1993): [icon] " Chamaerhododendros " in Duhamel, Semis Plantat. Arbr. (Add.): 10, unnumbered plate, f. 2. 1760 (see p. 127).
Generitype of Rhodora Linnaeus.
Current name: Rhododendron canadensis (L.) Torr. (Ericaceae).
