Indigofera argentea Linnaeus, Mantissa Plantarum Altera: 273. 1771, nom. illeg.

Lectotype (Schrire in Turland & Jarvis in Taxon 46: 473. 1997): [icon] "Coluteae affinis fruticosa argentea floribus spicatis e viridi purpureis siliquis falcatis" in Sloane, Voy. Jamaica 2: 37, t. 176, f. 3. 1725. - Typotype: Herb. Sloane 6: 8, upper left specimen (BM-SL).
Current name: Indigofera tinctoria L. (Fabaceae: Faboideae).
Note: A later homonym of Indigofera argentea Burm. f. (1768) and hence illegitimate. See comments by Ali (Rev. Gen. Indigofera: 565. 1958).
