Lectotype (Cramer in Dassanayake & Fosberg, Revised Handb. Fl. Ceylon 3: 116. 1981): Herb. Linn. No. 749.3 (LINN).

Current name: Ocimum basilicum L. (Lamiaceae).

Note: Generic name spelled “Ocymum” in the protologue.
