Description
Hyoseris scabra Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 809. 1753.
"Habitat in Sicilia." RCN: 5900.
Lectotype (Garbari & Vangelisti in Jarvis & Turland in Taxon 47: 363. 1998): Herb. Clifford: 386, Hyoseris 1 (BM-000646858).
Current name: Hyoseris scabra L. (Asteraceae).
Note: Alavi (in Jafri & El-Gadi, Fl. Libya 107: 332. 1983) indicated Herb. Linn. No. 957.4 (LINN) as type, but this sheet lacks a Species Plantarum number (i.e. “3”) and was a later addition to the herbarium. It is not original material for the name.
