Original material: Herb. Burser XV(1): 8 (UPS); [icon] in Petiver, Herb. Britannici: 18, t. 18, f. 10. 1713.
Generitype of Filago Linnaeus, nom. cons.
Current name: Filago pyramidata L. (Asteraceae).
Note: In the Addenda to Species Plantarum, Linnaeus (Sp. Pl. 2: 1230. 1753) adds Gnaphalium germanicum L. (p. 857) to the protologue, as a synonym. See Wagenitz (in Willdenowia 4: 47, 49. 1965), Dandy (in Watsonia 7: 165. 1969) and Greuter (in Boissiera 13: 136. 1967).
