TYPE GENUS. Cicada (Parnisa) Stål 1862 a: 21.

REMARKS. The genera of the tribe Parnisini are characterized by the eyes not or barely projecting beyond the anterior angles of the more or less subquadrate pronotum and the abdomen being shorter than the distance between the apex of the postclypeus and posterior cruciform elevation (Distant 1905e; Moulds 2005).
