Description

Code for Earth Orbit v2.1, for details see:
Kostadinov, T. S. and Gilb, R.: Earth Orbit v2.1: a 3-D visualization and analysis model of Earth's orbit, Milankovitch cycles and insolation, Geosci. Model Dev., 7, 1051–1068, https://doi.org/10.5194/gmd-7-1051-2014, 2014.

Notes

Important!: The latitude-day of year insolation anomaly plot (produced by the button "Plot Global Insolation for the chosen year") is computed with respect to contemporary insolation using a total solar irradiance (TSI) value of 1,366 W/m^2. To compute absolute values of insolation, it is recommended to use the currently (2021) accepted value of TSI = 1,361 W/m^2 (e.g. Kopp and Lean (2011) - https://doi.org/10.1029/2010GL045777, and Prša et al. (2016) - http://dx.doi.org/10.3847/0004-6256/152/2/41).
