Tracing the Low-Cost Carrier Business Model: A Bibliometric Research

This paper aims to present a general overview of the body of literature on LCC and identify past and present research trends. To achieve this objective, 853 publications retrieved from the Web of Science (WoS) database were analyzed in the period 1991 to 2020 by adopting the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analyzed) methodology. Based on bibliometric analysis metrics, the most prolific authors, journals, institutions, and countries were identified. In addition, co-citation, co-occurrence, and co-authorship networks were generated by employing the Bibliometrix package in R statistical software.
