Dataset: Polarimetric Decomposition of Near-Earth Asteroid Radar Observations from Arecibo Observatory

Description

Delay-Doppler image data presented in: Hickson, D.C., Virkki, A.K., Perillat, P., Nolan, M.C., Bhiravarasu, S.S. (2020) Polarimetric Decomposition of Near-Earth Asteroid Radar Observations from Arecibo Observatory, The Planetary Science Journal, in-revision.

This dataset contains those delay-Doppler image data for all images of various polarimetric parameters given in Figures 1-3 of the accompanying paper, derived from radar observations performed at the Arecibo Observatory. These are images of total power (S1), circular polarization ratio (CPR), degree of linear polarization (DLP), degree of polarization (deg_pol), and the m-chi decomposition colors red (mchi_red), green (mchi_green), and blue (mchi_blue) for near-Earth asteroids (53319) 1999 JM8, (101955) Bennu, and (33342) 1998 WT24. These image data can be used to reproduce the histograms in Figures 4 and 5.

The data are saved as FITS files with limited header information. For details corresponding to the resolution of each image and how these data have been processed, please refer to the accompanying paper. The specific image that each FITS file corresponds to is given in the filename.
