Description
This paper describes the Resonant Element music generation system, which is capable of generating a continuous stream of music based upon observed attributes of Western popular music. It explains the conceptual foundations of the architectural strategy, including the intended use cases of the system. It summarizes the representational structure and generation process of the application, with particular focus placed upon the use of chord progressions, stochastic note transitions, histograms, and LRU pattern caching. It provides a basic evaluation of the system, along with a summary of future development directions.
