Description
Weakly agglomerated ZrO2 nanopowders stabilized by complex oxides of Sc2O3 and CeO2 were synthesized by precipitation from aqueous solutions. Using weakly agglomerated nanopowders, thick films were prepared by tape casting on a-Al2O3 substrates. These thick films have a conductivity of 4·10-4 S/cm at 600 °C and 2.4·10-3 S/cm at 700 °C; activation energy of 1.17 eV; and their electron conductivity is lower than oxygen conductivity by 4 orders of magnitude. A multilayer system consisting of films of the polycrystalline porous anode and the solid electrolyte was prepared. The diffusion of cations in the anode boundary layer and change in the chemical composition of the electrolyte film is not observed at optimum synthesis conditions (namely, the use of tannin, laminating, the thermal shock of 500 °C/min). The developed multilayer systems can be used for the manufacture of low temperature (600 °C) fuel cells with film structure.
