Description

The concept of Social Distancing is not new. To a great extent many societies had the knowledge of maintaining distance during epidemics to avoid infections since generations. It has been in existence in many parts of the world. It plays a significant role in preventing covid-19. Social distancing is a best tool which contributes to lower death rate thereby reducing community transmission  of the disease. Social Distancing is a process of maintaining distance of at least two meters with the other  people. This will have an impact on the health care system in relieving pressure and slows down the peak of epidemic. It is a non-pharmaceutical infection to slow down the transmission of the disease in the community, gradually avoiding exposure to the virus. Social distancing is also known as physical distancing which aims at maintaining distance with people outside home. Social Distancing demonstrates people not to converge in public places, to avoid the crowded places and to nullify the events of mass gathering. The target of social distancing is to stop the continuous progress of covid-19  by avoiding contact with the infected people and staying away from them. As the virus causing covid-19 spreads faster with people to people contact due to the droplets of cough and sneezing from an infected person, social distancing plays a vital role in slowing the process of the disease. The Center for Disease Control (CDC), a federal agency in United States related to public health commends social distancing because it helps in reducing the escalation of the virus.
