Analysis and Conclusion

Both SARS and COVID-19 began in December. ...However, the diagnosis rate of SARS dropped significantly in March 2003, while the diagnosis rate of COVID-19 keeps increasing in June 2020 (the dataset ends on June 15, 2020). The mortality rate (8.6%) and recovery rate (80.8%) of SARS are higher than that of COVID-19 (3.3% and 60.6%). However, the COVID-19 pandemic has a longer duration, spread to more countries (world-widely vs. 10 countries), infected a lot more people (16,346,398 vs 16,864), and claimed many more lives (887,338 vs. 1,626).
