Morphing Rudder

Description

This paper presents the studies to develop structural highly orthotropic panels. These types of panels provide the capabilities required for structural morphing. They are highly deformable in one given direction and in the perpendicular one must be compliant to sustain the internal loads per certification stiffness and strength requirements.

This project has received funding from the Clean Sky 2 Joint Undertaking (JU) under grant agreement LPA-IADP CS2-LPA-GAM-2016-2017. The JU receives support from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and the Clean Sky 2 JU members other than the Union.
