Description

Kanoieva M., Butyrina M. Interview: Current genre transformation

One of the positive trends in the development of contemporary journalism is the promotion of dialogues both in print media and on television, radio and the Internet. Interview, as a genre, plays a key role in building today’s media model. The study was conducted using general scientific methods: descriptive, analysis and synthesis. With the help of these methods, the process of transformation of the interview genre at the present stage was analyzed and modern types of interviews were considered. The interview has always been and remains one of the most popular genres of journalism. Like most genres, interviews change over the time and, as a result, take on new forms that meet today’s audience needs in general. In the study, the interviews were divided according to their structural features, and it should be noted that in modern conditions we can observe a mixture of some genres with others. As a result, the interview is not limited to its classification and demonstrates a wide range of cooperation with other journalistic genres, both informational and analytical ones. Thus, we can conclude that the format of the interview is its compliance with certain features of the interview as a genre. It should also be noted that an interview in journalism is, first of all, the format of conversation or survey, where the basic feature is the answers to the journalist’s questions by the respondent and coverage of the given topic (situations, phenomena, etc.). Depending on the purpose of the interview, its format and type may change and take on new forms.
