Description
Sitobion avenae (Fabricius, 1775)

DiagnosisAptera 1.2–3.5 mm, green with black muscle sclerites. Legs and antennae partly black. Siphunculi black. Cauda pale. Abdominal dorsum sclerotised, shiny, all green, all black, or green with grey or black transverse bars. Juveniles matt, apt. juv. green, al. juv. brown. Holocyclic, monoecious on grasses (Poaceae), exceptionally on Equisetum sylvaticum. Not ant-attended.
