Are we losing resources when managing Europe's waste?

Description

This ETC/WMGE report provides the detailed analysis underpinning the EEA Briefing "Reducing loss of resources from waste management is key to strengthening the circular economy in Europe" https://www.eea.europa.eu/themes/waste/waste-management/reducing-loss-of-resources-from.

In doing so, the report analyses five illustrative examples selected, taking into account the different types of ‘losses’ throughout the value chain. This includes the assessment of the loss of critical raw materials. For each type of loss, the reasons behind it are analysed. The focus of the report is at the EU level, not at country level.
