Job Satisfaction is an important factor which every progressive organisation
wishes to watch over. As the satisfaction of employees increase over the years,
their retention rate also get upgraded and their attrition rate begin to downgrade.
In organisation what are the different factors which actually motivate a person and
provides satisfaction to them is a million dollar question for all HR Department.
Sometimes the members will be satisfied with trivial measures, in few other time
even a big welfare measure get unnoticed, just like how and why a consumer behaves
so is difficult to assess like that what actually satisfies an employee is difficult to
identify. This study tries shed some light on the issue of satisfaction of employees with
reference to XYZ Chemical Industry Chemical Industry Ltd, Karaikal. The factors
which were included in assessing the employee satisfaction includes both extrinsic
and intrinsic. Employees of Karaikal XYZ Chemical Industry Unit are the study
area. By administering an online questionnaire, the workers were asked to deliver
their satisfaction level. The job satisfaction of employees is moderately higher and
is more or less satisfied with many provisions which are available at XYZ Chemical
Industry. The total number of sample was 242. The researcher applied convenience
sampling method to gather and to analyse the data. The study revealed that even
though the company is providing a good system and many welfare measures, still
there exists a room for improvement in satisfaction and measuring satisfaction is not
a onetime affair it’s a continues process.
