Description
Incorporating new statistical applications in the archaeological research as a means of studying absolute dates, particularly the Summed Calibrate Date Probability Distributions and the Bayesian Inference, has allowed us to overcome at some extent the traditional dichotomy between absolute and relative chronologies. Using these tools, we carried out a review of the radiocarbon data between 3600–2600 cal BC in order to acquire a deeper understanding of the transition to the Copper Age in Andalusia. In this sense, a type of study has been proposed based on diachronic analysis of fortified settlements, funerary ritual and pottery productions.
