Description

Changing-Look AGN (or CLAGN) are low-luminosity AGN that change their type classification on surprisingly short timescales down to a year. Random chance may thus decide whether they appear as AGN or not, and their duty cycle has yet to be constrained, due to the low number of known CLAGN. This could also have an impact on studies of AGN feedback in the low-luminosity regime. Progress relies on finding a complete sample of such objects and on large-scale monitoring of low-luminosity AGN. Searches in databases have revealed less than 100 CLAGN. Many search methods produce incomplete samples due to low cadence and lack of spectral data. In this talk we present our methods and newly identified CLAGN. Finally, we propose high cadence spectroscopy of known Seyfert galaxies as well as large-scale photometric surveys to track colour changes in galaxy cores.
